TriCounty Addiction Services offers five core services:
  • Entry Services
  • Initial Assessment/Treatment Planning
  • Case Management Services
  • Community Treatment Services
  • Prevention and Awareness

Entry Services
Our entry services (enquiry, screening & intake) include orientation meetings, which are presentations by our staff to small goups of persons, who may be accompanied by supportive family members, during which they learn about what we have to offer, what other services exist elsewhere to assist them, and the steps to take to take to become engaged in services. Other entry services help callers determine whether the concerns they face can be helped at our organization -- and where else they can call if needed.

Initial Assessment/Treatment Planning Services
Initial assessment/treatment planning services are then offered to explore the individual circumstances and particular challenges facing those persons who wish to enter counselling and to develop a plan to help overcome those challenges and to reach objectives that achieve recovery.

Case Management Services
Case management services are provided in order to ensure coordination of our services with others that persons may be receiving from other health care providers.

Community Treatment Services
Community treatment services include small group counselling, marital/spousal or family counselling, and individual counselling. As well, depending on staffing resources, TriCAS is able to offer some auricular (ear) acupuncture for persons already enrolled in our counselling programs, to help support management of moods and to prevent relapse to addiction behaviours.

Prevention and Awareness
Prevention and awareness activities done by TriCAS involve making presentations to community groups, other professionals, schools, businesses, church groups, service clubs, inter-agency task forces and work groups, etc. about addiction issues, problem gambling, or co-occuring disorders. As well, the agency has a collection of library materials (books, CDs) from which items may be borrowed for self-education by clients, members of the public, and other professionals.
